Intro to Watercolors w/ Mary Hickman
Time & Location
About The Event
Watercolor appeals to our inner child . We are entranced as vibrant colors flow across our white paper. Enchantment becomes panic however, as the colors dissolve into a muddy mess. We will learn how to control the beauty of watercolor using tried and true techniques. We will learn to make washes, work colors wet into wet, dry brush techniques, wax resist, glazing to deepen color, and spontaneous techniques like spattering. We'll learn to mix colors, and look at watercolors by great artists such as Andrew Wyeth. John Singer Sargent, and Turner. Supplies are included in the ticket price.
Mary Hickman (local artist) developed and will teach the class. Mary has painted in oil, acrylics and watercolors for 20+ years, has a BA in Art from Rosary College, and recently studied drawing at Studio Incamminati in Philadelphia. She looks forward to sharing with you!
