Enjoy the green spaces in our downtown.

PARKS

Located on the west side of North Main Street (entrance between La Caribena Grocery and Main Street Deli), Chambers Fort Park is an inviting downtown greenspace located by the confluence of the Falling Spring and Conococheague creeks.

The park is also animal friendly, one of only two parks in the Borough that allow animals - the other being the Chambersburg Rail Trail. During the summer, concerts and movies are held here.

The Chambersburg Bike Park is located along the Rail Trail between Commerce and King Streets. The Bike Park is a perfect place for adults and kids of all skill levels to develop and advance their bicycling talents.

Various bike events and contests are hosted there, including the popular ChambersFest Bike Day held on the second Saturday of every July.

The Chambersburg section of the Cumberland Valley Rail Trail, a 1.7 mile linear park located between Commerce and South Streets, provides opportunities for walking, jogging, biking, dog walking, skateboarding and rollerblading. The paved trail on the north side ends at Commerce Street, however, a gravel access onto the Wilson College campus runs parallel to the old rail road and offers additional trail running, biking or walking opportunities.

Mike Waters Memorial Park is located on South Second Street between the blocks of McKinley and Catherine Streets. The park has two full-size, lighted basketball courts, a pavilion that seats approximately 35 people, a large playground structure, shaded picnic areas, restrooms, an asphalt walking path around the park, a grass playing field and a Splash Pad. The Splash Pad is open Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Park of the Valiant is located off Second Street next to the Chambersburg Fire Department. With approximately 1 acre of open green space, the park features benches, a brick walkway and a memorial fountain. There is also a steel foot bridge in the park going over the Falling Spring Creek, which is a wonderful spot to watch ducks as they congregate on the water.
